The Beauty of Sagittarius Season: Astrological Glamour Magick series
As we enter Sagittarius season our shine seems to become a lot… shinier? Perhaps even a little ethereal, a little mystical, and a lot more magical. Like a thoroughbred, during Sagittarius season we want to be seen like the prize horse we are. We want to take up space and be big, loud, and jolly like the planet Jupiter. We want to pull you into our orbit like Jupiter’s many admiring moons. The New Year is also beginning to come into focus so this is a really wonderful time for self expansion, thinking ahead on what you may want to charge toward in 2023, and what lights your inner flame.
During this time skincare, self care, and beauty can become a little more playful and explorative. You might want to adventure into new shades, new looks, and new routines. You might find yourself becoming a curious explorer during Sagittarius when there is a ton of stimulating inspiration everywhere - glossy gift sets, twinkling lights, and an event calendar that might be busier than usual.
To pull the beauty of the season into your routine fragrant holiday aromatics like sage, anise, myrrh, nutmeg, maple, evergreens, nuts, and fig will have a deeper alignment during this time. A hint of maple syrup added to the bath with sprigs of rosemary can be a real treat this time of year. Gemstone shades of deep blue, citrine, indigo, scarlet, violet, and purple give a Jovial edge to your creative self expression. Oil containing plants also fall under the realm of Sagittarius’s planetary ruler Jupiter so it’s a wonderful time to step up your moisturizing game especially with the onset of cooler weather.
Smoky quartz, labradorite, blue goldstone, turquoise, amethyst and lapis lazuli are all aligned with Sagittarius and are wonderful to work with at this time. I love to add amethyst to my shampoo to keep my mind clear and focused during this whimsical time that can so easily pull one into grandeur and overindulgence. Smoky quartz is great to keep on your person if you know you will have to share spaces with toxic people. Blue goldstone and labradorite carry this otherworldly celestial energy that is very prominent during Sagittarius season - these are two of my favorite crystals to add to the bath during this season.
The hips and thighs are ruled by Sagittarius and at this time treating yourself to full body treatments and skincare are wonderful gifts to yourself. Sagittarius also rules over the liver so as we enter this post-Halloween period cleanses and detoxes may seem appealing.
This is a really good time to revamp your travel bag with travel sizes of your favorite products, satin sleep masks and/or pillowcases, samples of luxury perfumes, crystals for protection and confidence, florida water, and things that might make your stay more comfortable. A lot of times a travel bag is an afterthought, but with the Sun in Sagittarius there is a certain excitement in planning for future travel. Some people may also find themselves sitting at uncomfortable tables during this season and a well stocked travel bag is a really good way to show up for yourself.
Sagittarius carries an expansive energy that inspires us to learn, grow, and be better. By tapping into the energy of Sagittarius during its four week season we can get to know ourselves better, create a positive path forward, and open ourselves up to new and exciting experiences that help us reach our highest potential.
